Participation of citizens, especially young women and men including people living with disabilities in democratization and public decision-making processes is key to development processes. Yet, youth face significant challenges, arising from globalization, violence, conflicts, access to quality education, demographic shifts and changing labour markets, lack of access to the most basic sexual reproductive health information. Moreover, young people are often excluded from formal decision-making processes and the opportunity to effectively influence and shape their own future.
We will mobilize and empower youth and their agencies to take active part in development processes. We will work with them to promote civic education and democracy as well as taking leadership roles as responsible citizens. We will also work towards strengthening their capacity to monitor the implementation of the government’s commitments to secure their livelihoods and destinies.
