Young people at the center of development.
Kijana Wajibika SDG 16.7 is a programme that encourages young people to be at the centre of development and government processes to ensure they are driving accountability and responsiveness from the Government. Using our proven and successful youth-led, data-driven accountability model, which places young people at the centre of development and governance processes, we are empowering young people in Tanzania to use data to hold their government accountable for their commitments.
Shaping a generation of Youth Accountability Advocates.
We empower and support young people particularly girls and people with disability to exercise their civic rights through mainstreaming Gender aspects, Disability Inclusion, conducting Data-driven Accountability, Leadership Skills and Meaningful Youth Engagement in decision-making bodies and development programs including policy-making and enforcement. We support young people to build knowledge and skills to advocate for their rights and encourage duty bearers to respond to young people’s voices. The programme encourages young people to be well informed on their civic rights and actively engage in political processes. YAWE is implementing the Kijana Wajibika SDG 16.7 in Shinyanga with support from Restless Development with funding from the Ford Foundation.
